  • US History archived | LA Turners history sorted by decades

    The Archive that you can access through the different menus on this website, is sorted by decades. The pictures and information date from the beginnings of Los Angeles in the 1850's and continue up until today. Each decade contains their own pictures, descriptions and history. The Los Angeles Turners have been around since the 1850's and organized in 1871 as the oldest Club in Los Angeles.

  • German-American History

    Since the arrival of a German botanist in Jamestown in 1608, German immigrants and their descendants have made their imprint on the US. Today, some 43 million Americans claim German heritage. This website compiles information and pictures about Germans and German-Americans from the beginnings to today.

  • Gymnastics and Physical Education (PE) in Public Schools

    In 1896, the Los Angeles Turners introduced Physical Education (PE) to public schools in Los Angeles. The American Turners did this nationwide and PE became the fitness movement of today. The contributions of Germans and German-Americans to the US are various and important. We will try to give you an overview on this website.
